Tomorrow is my 3rd wedding anniversary, so today's card is for my husband. We are only married three years, but we have been together for 9 wonderful years. We met on July 1st so we decided to keep that anniversary date and we were marred on the exact day and time when we met.

My husband loves the SU stamp set Crab & Company, so that's why I decided to use this stamp set. I always have a hard time using this set, but I think I like the way this card turned out.

I ended up using several different stamp sets on my card. I used Crab & Company for the crab, starfish, shells, and sentiment. The sun and ocean waves are from Beach Babies, the clouds are from Dreams & Dragons, and the speckles in the sand are from Itty Bitty Background.

First, I made my background using my SU chalks and the chalk dragging technique. Then I stamped the speckles in the sand and the waves in the ocean. Lastly, I just stamped and cut out the rest of the images. I then glued them on my card using SU 2 way glue. My sentiment is punched out using small and large oval punches. I usually try to add at least one embellishment on every card that I make, so here I placed two brads along both sides of my sentiment.

I just received this stamp set (SU - True Friend) and I wanted to ink it up right away! I used my SU markers to color the flower stamp. I used the following colors: pumpkin pie, apricot appeal, certainly celery, and old olive.

I really like making my own background paper and I find myself doing this a lot lately. Sometimes I just don't have the exact color or pattern of paper that I may want. I'm learning that all of the pattern paper I buy just sits around because it's not what I end up using. Lately when I purchase my craft supplies I'm a bit more particular in choosing.

Anyway, I stamped the backgrounds using the larger flower stamp and the smaller tri-flower stamps from this same set. I added some white dots using a white gel pen on the pumpkin pie paper.

My sentiment is also from this same stamp set, but I wasn't too crazy about the parentheses along both sides of the 'Thank U' so I used my circle punches to punch out the sentiment and the pumpkin pie layer behind it. Then I used my circle punches again to sort of take a bite out of both sides of the 'Thank U', I did this because I was able to get rid of the parentheses and still use the thank you words that I wanted. There might be a punch available through SU for this, but I don't have too many punches and I always end up making do with what I have.

My mother in law is at a wedding today which brings me to my card for today. When I make my cards I don't make them just for me, I also make them for my friends and family to use. When my mother in law needs a card she just lets me know and then I get to work on it. Well, she needed a wedding card for today (you can see that card here- wedding card), but I got to thinking that I should probably have another one on hand and this is the card that I came up with.

I love making all white cards for wedding cards and I usually end up using my cuttlebug on them. In this picture I am using my birds and swirls embossing folder. I tried to show in the picture how I only emboss about three quarters of my background. I insert the card stock into the folder only part way and then I run it through my cuttlebug machine.

After my cardstock is embossed I then add my score lines using my scor-pal. I always have a hard time keeping my score line straight, but I tried to show in this picture how I've corrected that problem. On the right side of my cardstock you should be able to see how I've lined up edge with the groove. Then I scored my lines along the edging of the embossed image and again along the bottom (you'll see this a little bit better in the next picture).

Here's the picture of my card so far with my added decorative score lines and sentiment. My sentiment is from SU's sincere salutations. I generally end up using this sentiment for my wedding cards. Then, I added a white and silver ribbon and some punched out butterflies using my Martha Stewart butterfly punches shown in the picture below.

The Martha Stewart punches that I used are called classic butterfly and 3 in 1 butterfly. I love these punches because it's such a quick and easy way to add some dimension to a card. I just punched out the butterflies and glued them to my card.

And this is a picture of my finished card. I placed the smaller punched butterflies in the embossed area and the larger butterflies next to my sentiment.

I've been busy stamping some of these snowmen images for some RAKs and I thought since I was stamping some I should make a card with it.

My card is pretty straight forward. I just stamped my image and colored it in. Originally, I used my SU watercolor crayons and blender pen, but then I wanted my colors to be a bit stronger so I decided to recolor them using my aqua painter and SU ink pads. I don't color that way very often, but I really like the results and I'll have to try it again.

My pattern paper background is from a paper pack that I bought at Wal-Mart last year. My sentiment is from SU's Perfect Presentation. I punched out the sentiment and I added a snowflake in the center. I love using organdy ribbon with silver cording for a ribbon treatment especially for winter themed cards.

I made this card for today's Ways to Use it challenge. For today's challenge we were to create a card using bold and bright color combos and elements.

I decided to use my TheWorld Over stamp set for this challenge. I stamped my image and used my SU markers for my coloring. All of the colors that I used on my card are from the bold brights color family.

I just felt that my background still needed a little something so I decided to use my cuttlebug and bloom dots embossing folder. I also used some bright green ribbon and a button for my embellishments. It seems that buttons are starting to become popular again and I hardly ever use my buttons, so I decided to use one on this card. I just tied some ribbon through the holes of the button and I also tied some ribbon along the sides of my stamped flower image.

Well, today was certainly a busy day for me. My sister is still here visiting and she wanted me to make halopkies for supper. I haven't made those in quite some time, but they tunred out great! After supper I gave my sister a hair cut and I highlighted my older daughter's hair. Her hair ended up not being light enough. I didn't realize that the bleaching product I have was out dated. I was a hairdresser before my daughter was born so I'm pretty good with hair, but I should have known better about the expiration date. Oh well, I told her that I'll do it again once I have a chance to buy some more product.

I don't have any pictures at the moment to upload, but I just finished up hosting a 'Let's Get Punchy' card swap and I uploaded all of the cards that I received into my splitcoast photo gallery. Here's the link if anyone would like to look at the cards that I received.

Let's Get Punchy Swap Cards

The ladies did a wonderful job on their swap cards and there are a lot of wonderful ideas here! Feel free to check them out and perhaps leave a comment for them. Currently on splitcoast stampers there is a comment game thread (I will be hosting the next one). All you need to do to participate is to leave 10 comments in the gallery and have a chance to win some prizes. For more information click on this link below

I wasn't able to post a card today, but I will try to get one posted tomorrow. My sister is here visiting with me and I don't get a chance to see her that often, so I'm trying to spend lots of time with her. The weather here is beautiful and we might go out for some ice cream later tonight. Have a great day! Pin It

The splitocast clean and simple challenge for today was to create a card using a technique called paper piecing. Paper piecing is a great way to use up some of your pattern paper scraps.
Paper piecing is a quick and easy technique which can gives some added interest to your image. All you need is an open lined image, scissors, and pattern paper.

I made this card by stamping the butterfly image on the pattern paper and cutting it out. Then I stamped the swirly sentiment and glued the butterfly.

I used the same pattern paper for my butterfly and on the base of my card. I added some dots along the white image layer and my ribbon is from Offray.

This card I made was super quick and easy. All I did was stamp the vases on pattern paper and cut them out. Then I stamped the flower images (I needed to use my stamp-a-ma-jig for this) and colored them using my certainly celery SU marker.

The stamp set I used to make this card is SU's Vases in Vogue and my ribbon if from Offray.

Here is a tutorial from splitcoaststampers on paper piecing:

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. Today I'd like to share with you the card that I made for my husband this Father's Day. My husband wanted a card with a crab on it. It's a long story....my name is Patty and if you've ever watched SpongeBob you know all about the crabby Patty. Well, I'm crabby Patty and my husband is Mr. Krabs....LOLI used my SU pastel chalks and a technique called chalk dragging to create the sand and sky background. Then I stamped over the sand with the speckle stamp from SU’s Itty Bitty Background stamp set. Next, I stamped my images and cut them out. Each star fish represents one of our children. My sentiment is a combination from SU's Crab & Company 'snappy birthday' and SU's When I Grow Up 'happy father's day' stamp.I used my SU circle and scallop circle punches and the crab was applied using dimensionals.

This is the Father's day card that my daughter made for her father. She would be thrilled if you could leave a comment for her. She made this card all by herself! She's going to be a stamper just like mom! Pin It

Now that I have my swap cards swapped and mailed out I have some extra time for my blog.I've been receiving several compliments on the placement of my dots on my cards, so I thought I'd share the secret to my success....LOL Well, okay it's not a seceret, but this is the way I make my dots on my cards. I use my SU mat pack template and my black marker! First I stamped and colored my card.

Next, you will want to place the template over your image or area that you want to place the dots around. This also works for when you want to place some dots along the border in the layers of your card stock. In this case I am making a one layer card.

The great thing about this template is that it's clear and you can see exactly where your dots will line up. To help me line up my dots I used the thicken/darker black line and I lined it up along the top and sides of my image.

Then I start making my dots. I hold the template with one hand and using the fine tip end of my marker I quickly touch the marker through the holes onto the paper.Make sure you are holding the template in place with your other hand- in my picture here I was using my other hand to take the photograph. If the template moves you can always line it back up, but you don't want it to move while making your dots.
You will need to move the template around as you continue making your dots. It's easy to line it up to your previous dots and really simple to keep them straight. In this picture I decided to make two rows of dots. Here I had to stop and turn the template so that I could continue along the bottom of my card.
Here is a picture of my finished card :)

Now that school is out, it's getting to be that time of year again. Time for graduation parties. My mother in law needed two high school graduation cards for a twin boy and girl. She asked that the cards be similar, but yet different.

This is the card that I made for the girl. I used my circut to cut out the GRAD letters and I used my Little Layers Plus SU stamp set for the graduation cap. I just stamped the cap on real red cardstock and then cut it out.

The sentiment is from SU's Live Your Dream stamp set and the year 2009 is stamped using SU's All Around Alphabet Number stamp set. I added some dots along the top and bottom main panel of my card and I also did some paper piercing along the edges of the real red paper, but it's hard to see in the picture.

And this is the card that I ended up making for the boy. Again, I used my Cricut to cut out the GRAD letters and I stamped and cut out the graduation cap using SU's Little Layers Plus stamp set.

I did not want to use ribbon on this card, so I ended up making the little diploma. I rolled up a small piece of white cardstock and tied it using SU silver cording. I made the background using my Cuttlebug and Distressed Striped Embossing folder.

The congratulations sentiment is from SU's All Year Cheer stamp set and the year 2009 is stamped using SU's All Around Alphabet Number stamp set.

I have a 4 month old baby girl and she had a doctor's appointment today and she needed two shots. The baby seems a bit cranky right now and her little leg is red from her shot, but now she's sleeping and I'm able to get started swapping the cards for a card swap that I am currently hosting. This is the card that I made for my swap. The idea of my swap was to find ways to use punches on our cards.

I've seen scallop punches used as wreaths before, so this is not my original idea, but I decided to use the wreath for the letter O in Noel. To create the wreath I used a larger scallop circle punch for the red layer, then I used my SU scallop punch for the smaller green layer, I used my circle punch for the center, and I used my 1/4" circle punch for the small circles on the wreath. The letters are stamped using SU's Letterpress Alphabet.

I have one more card that I wanted to share. I made this card for a black & white card swap that I am signed up for. This card was super easy to make and could probably work for several different occasions. All I did was stamp the flowers along the bottom and then add the punched butterflies. I used my Martha Stewart 3 in 1 and Classic butterfly punches.

Good Morning! It's been a little while since my last post. Right now I'm busy finishing up my 'Lets Get Punchy' card swap. I'd like to get them swapped and in the mail within the next few days.

I've made several cards since my last post and there is one in particular that I'd like to share. While hosting my 'Lets Get Punchy' card swap I received an RAK from splitcoast user DarcyD. She sent me the cutest stamp set and I just had to ink it up right away. This is the card that I made, aren't those frogs just the cutest? This stamp set is called Ribbit and it's made by Pink Persimmon. Here's the website: http://www.pinkpersimmon.com/.
I stamped the images, colored them using my SU Markers, and then cut them out. I made my own decorative paper using the flower stamp from this set and then I added some dots using a white gel pen. My sentiment is from SU's Circle of Friendship stamp set and my ribbon is from Offray. I used the following punches on my card: 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches, SU scallop circle punch, and SU ticket corner punch.

This was a free digital image that I downloaded, it's called 'Cool Cat' and it's from Hambo Stamps. I thought I would send this card to my sister because she's a cat lover. That's why I ended up putting the word giggle as my sentiment because I know as soon as my sister sees this card she will start laughing.

I colored the image using my SU markers and then I added some dots around the outside. I'm not too sure about the color combo I used here, but I wanted to make the cat a sort of orange color because my sister has a cat this color.

I really like the layout that I came up with so I may use it again and make another card. I’m always looking for an excuse to make another card!

Here's another card that I made this card for today's limited supply challenge. For this challenge we were to create a summer themed one layer card.

My main image is from SU's Bakset of Kindness and my sentiment is from SU's Blooming With Happiness. Basically all I did was stamp and color. I added some dots around my image and around my sentiment.

My First Blog Post

Well, I've finally done it! This is my very first blog post. I'm not sure how often I will be able to post, but I'll give it a try and see how it goes. My blog is called 'LaLatty's Stamp 'N Stuff'. I will post my stamping creations and every once and a while I'll post a little bit about me. I have a card gallery on splitcoaststampers and I hope to eventually post my cards here. Please bear with me as I am really new to all of this :) Pin It
